Impact of structure and organization of smallholders on agricultural carbon emissions

Achieving carbon neutrality in agricultural production is a common challenge faced by development around the world. If China’s agriculture sector intends to achieve “dual carbon” goal, focus should be on emission of smallholder farmers and their organized production. This study discusses impact structure emission, interaction mechanism. To describe causal relationship mechanism, structural degree total regions were measured, provincial panel data constructed, then fixed-effects model intermediary mechanism test used for empirical analysis. The results show that current stage development, high proportion smallholders region will lead more emissions. Although services can reduce emissions, inhibit scale organization, thus hindering reduction. It stated inhibition path suggests government improve policies guide operate an appropriate scale, strengthen encourage use socialized services, support developing highly valuable ecological agriculture.
